About the Author Bert Casey has been a professional performer and teacher in the Atlanta area for over 35 years. I settled on 4 because the book is doing what I wanted. I am learning the ukulele. The DVD is actually a great addition to the book. It is very helpful, especially since I haven't heard of at least half the songs in the book. That's why I was debating the lower rating. The songs are super old and not engaging to anyone close to my age. I'm 37, just in case you were wondering. The songs are not the types of songs that inspire one to want to play. It becomes tedious to work through. I'm not expecting Lady Gaga, Beyonce, or Adele, but something from this century would be nice, or something with a hawaiian/tropical feel. I'd take Margarita Ville or a 50's song.
